News from the NaNo front is grim: 33,054 words at Day 25. At this rate, I’ll reach the 50k word count goal on December 7.
To finish on time, I’d have to write 2,825 words per day, but I have family commitments tomorrow and I don’t write on Sunday. So I actually have only four writing days left, which means I need to shoot for nearly 5,000 words per day. Huge time commitments hanging over my head make this look impossible.
This may be the first year I don’t win NaNoWriMo.
Yesterday was a wonderfully full day of worship and fellowship (and food). With no spare time, I decided to give myself a birthday break from going to exercise. After 66 days in a row, I broke my record.
So today I feel like a loser on the NaNoWriMo front. And because I broke my exercise record, I feel like a loser on that front as well, but not because I’m losing weight!
Yesterday I made the decision not to become obsessive about exercise by focusing exclusively on worship and family. This month I tried to prioritize fiction writing, but work, church, and family commitments consistently trumped word count.
Four more days. No more time to lose!
